Outdoor Fun

We had some fun outside last week and I'm so ready for the weather to get warm and stay that way! Unfortunately, KJ got a pretty nasty cold after our time out so we won't be getting out much the next few days, but once he is better we will be once again reaping the benefits of fresh air and sunshine. KJ did have a couple firsts when out playing last week, he got to eat some dirt, taste some bark and fly a kite! All of which I have pictures of and I will get posted. He also got a tractor from my parents for Christmas that my mom and Chad put together; however, he's not too interested in driving it just yet, I think once he is bigger though it will definitely be at the top of his list of things to play with. In other news, not a whole lot is happening (seems like I say this a lot, right?). I am getting more and more anxious for Lainee to arrive, even if we still have a few months. Oh well, a lot to get done between then and now! Hope this finds you all happy & healthy!!

New Room, New Words and New Adventures

Well, not a lot of new things have been happening lately with me or Chad, we just continue to watch KJ grow and learn new things and he is definitely our entertainment. The pregnancy continues to go well, Lainee is a little mover and I love when she lets me know that she is there.

Last weekend we moved KJ into his new bedroom. We decided to convert the guest room into KJ's room, thus leaving KJ's old room for Lainee. It is a little bigger and KJ seems to enjoy it, especially since we can now fit his toy box inside of it. We have kept the full size bed in there so that guests can still stay over (besides, KJ is still sleeping with us) and it all seems to be working out. We are going to be working on getting KJ used to the new bed during naptimes, shouldn't be too hard of an adjustment since he is so used to our bed.

KJ is really starting to pick up on words, I think he says a new one everyday. The new ones he has picked up in the last few days are: ornery, shovel, candle and crap (this was an accident). Luckily he just said that last one once and so far doesn't know when to use it. haha It is pretty neat hearing him pick things up so fast and we are still practicing with animals and animal sounds.

As for new adventures, we are noticing that we have a little climber. He is beginning to climb up on tables so that he can dance around and he is learning to climb in and out of the "window" in his playhouse that we currently have inside (until the weather warms up). It's fun to watch him become more active but also a little scary when he does things he is not supposed too. He is also learning how to jump, especially if he is on a bed. Our little monkey!! OH, and, he has also learned how to remove his diaper if that is just what he is wearing-- so, if we let him run around in his diaper he is usually completley naked within a matter of minutes, which he likes much better than the diaper anyways. Not only is he our little monkey, he is our little streaker, too!

Disney Live & Ultrasound Results

Saturday we spent the day in Tri-Cities and took KJ to Playhouse Disney Live! IT was a fun experience and KJ got to see some of his favorite disney characters on stage. He really seems to love Tigger, Pooh and Handy Manny and all three were there so that was great! I think he was still a little too young for it, but he still enjoyed parts. The first half he started to get pretty antsy and the second half he was starting to get really tired. I am glad we took him, the moments he did get excited were so worth it and now we know it is something he will really enjoy later on! Im a dummy and forgot our digital camera so we ended up buying a cheap disposable, so once I get those pictures developed I will scan them in and post some up here (if they are good enough, :)..)

Exciting news today! Found out we are expecting a baby GIRL! We are very excited and it looks like everything is going great and she seems perfectly healthy. She sure is an active little thing, I had no idea she moved so much but the ultrasound tech had a hard time getting some measurements because she was such a wiggle worm! She did eventually settle down some and the tech was able to get everything she needed, just took a little while. We decided to name her Lainee Makay and we can't wait to meet her!!

Anyone giving out Davenport mattresses? Anyone??

Chad and I got back from our overnight trip to Spokane yesterday. It was pretty relaxing to get away and not really have an agenda of any sort. I did miss KJ, but I knew he was in good hands so I was still able to enjoy myself. The Davenport is definitely the nicest place I have ever stayed and we even gave in to some dessert (which we got for free because it took a while for it to get to our room, yahoo!) We also had a yummy dinner at a downtown spot and watched "He's Just Not that Into You." Poor Chad, I don't think he was too excited to go, but he did for me and it was a pretty good movie. Other than that we relaxed and didn't do a whole lot.

Last night I got to do something I've never done before, call The Poison Control Center. YIKES! Ok, when I explain this, if you are reading it you will think I'm a dummy, but I don't care... I was worried. So, I was making our bed and Chad had stepped out of the room to do something and on his way back in he informed that KJ just stuck vicks in his mouth. I cried out "NO, HE DIDN'T!" and ran over to him and sure enough there was KJ wiping vicks away from his mouth with a little fingerprint/hole in the vicks container. I grabbed a washcloth and wiped his hands down and tried to wipe his mouth out and then Chad and I both read the container. We weren't too worried and Chad told me to call just so that I would feel better about it, haha he knows me well. The operator let me know things would be fine that it was mostly just an irritant that could give him a slight tummy ache or really burn his eyes if he managed to get some into them. So, after the call, I felt a lot better and put the vicks away. :) (I had it out for a cold I'd been fighting all last week.)

In other KJ news, he is learning to count to 5 (with a little assistance) and we are also working on ABCs and colors. It's so much fun to see how much he is learning and I may be able to start bringing in some of my preschool activities soon.

ALSO-- one week until the ultrasound, I can't wait! The baby has been moving around for me this morning after not being noticed the last couple of days so I'm excited about that. I think he/she likes to tease me like KJ did. :)

A couple weeks and counting!

Well, it's almost that time! My ultrasound has been scheduled for Feb. 16th and I'm super, super excited! I can't wait to see the baby, make sure he/her is healthy and find out if my hunch on the gender is correct! I had a doctor appointment yesterday and everything seems to be going fine, other than some occasional headaches and a MAJOR pulled muscle in my back, ouch!

So far, it seems as February is going to be a pretty busy month, as far as weekends go! We have a
1) Superbowl this Sunday: We will head to church and then probabbly come home to divulge in goodies and lots of football and good commercials.
2) Trip to Spokane: Chad bought me some gift certs. to the Davenport for Christmas, so him and I are going on our first trip (without KJ). It's just a one nighter but I'm excited, it should be relaxing and fun; however, I think I may go through KJ withdrawls!!
3) V-Day/Playhouse Disney Live: For Valentine's Day, Chad, my parents and I are taking KJ to the show in Tri-Cities. I'm excited, I just hope it is good enough to keep KJ's attention!
4) Baby shower/ Bible Conference: The following weekend we have a Bible Conference at church which should be full of good fellowship, speakers, sermons and fun! Also a friend's baby shower is that week so I get to go buy some little girl stuff. :)

So, weekends should be full and it will help another month of pregnancy go by semi-quick, yahoo!

As for the KJ man, he continues to learn more words and continues to find ways to get into things! He now knows how to open the dishwasher and soon will get the hang of opening the oven (yikes!) Ornery little guy. Lots of fun though!

Oh, as you can see, I've changed my layout to fit the theme of Valentine's Day, I mostly did it to post the Valentine's card I made that KJ will send out to family. :)

JC Pennys and the big 2-8!

Well, after looking at portraits of my friend Claire's little boy a couple months back I thought JC Penny's would be a good direction to go in for KJ's next session. So, Saturday, we took him over to Tri-Cities and got his pictures done. Overall, it was a pretty good experience, the photographer was friendly and KJ liked her and we got some very CUTE, CUTE pictures! The downside, their computers had gone down that morning so our appointment was pushed back, but it all worked out at the end of the day! The photos should be online soon and once I get them back I will try to get some posted up on here, like I said... there were some cute ones!

I also turned 28 this weekend, crazy! I can't believe how fast time is flying by, not only did I turn 28 but my 10 year high school reunion is this summer as well, WHAT? Where did the time go, sometimes it feels like I was just in high school last week, not 10 years ago. So, KJ's pictures were part of my birthday present, I'm a picture nut and love to get them so I very excited to get pictures for my birthday. I also got some other great gifts from Chad and my parents and we got to go out to dinner while in Tri-Cities on Saturday. My mom also took me to Bride Wars last night, which was a cute little movie!

Besides that, the same old thing is happening around here. KJ continues to amaze me every day with a new word, dance, facial expression, etc... that kid definitely keeps me entertained. I'll be keeping you all posted!
