Easter, Chad's Birthday and some Sad News...

Easter was a lot of fun! The Saturday before we had some friends over and we decorated eggs and then did an indoor hunt for the kiddos. Sunday morning we got up and went to Easter breakfast at the church and then My mom, Linsey Orth and I put on an egg hunt for the kids at Church. KJ wasn't quite sure of the whole hunt the egg concept at first but he eventually figured it out and I think he had a good time! The pictures are from the hunt at church.
Chad's Birthday was this past Sunday. We ended up going to Shelton because last Thursday Chad's Grandma had to have surgery on a clogged artery in her neck. We thought it would be best to just go there to visit instead of his mom coming here, that way she could help take care of things there. We had a great weekend spending time with family and KJ got to spend some time with his Grandma and Great Grandparents that he doesn't get to see very often. We also got to see Ash & Eli's new place in Port Orchard and spend some time with Ashley before heading back home Sunday.
After Chad's Grandma's surgery, she seemed to be doing pretty well just tired, and we spent quite a bit of time with her and his Grandpa during the weekend. Sadly, Tuesday morning, Chad's mom called saying that Grandma had had a stroke and she wouldn't make it. She passed away Tuesday afternoon. It is still a little hard to believe that it all happened but we are so thankful that we were able to go and spend some time with her and that KJ was able to see her and give her some good hugs and kisses. We are going back to Shelton tomorrow for her memorial on Saturday. She is greatly missed already!

Translation:

A few cool things have happened since I last blogged!

This past weekend we went to visit some friends in Spokane. They are such a wonderful family and they have two beautiful little girls that KJ had lots of fun with! Also, last Thursday, KJ got to play with his friend Nathan and he always loves when friends come to play-- it reminds him of the toys he has that he only likes to play with if someone else is trying too. (haha)

Last night, my mom, some friends and I went to the Taste Of Home Cooking School. They had a lot of booths set up, some free food samples (yay!) and then the cooking show host made quite a few different dishes. They also gave out tons of door prizes which none of us won, unfortunately!

We also have a lot to look forward too!

Tonight, my sister Keesha is coming to stay for a couple nights so we are going to celebrate her birthday (which is Saturday) while she is here. Also, this weekend, KJ is going to partake in his first few Easter Egg hunts. Saturday we are taking him to an Easter egg hunt at a park and then having friends over to BBQ, decorate eggs and then have another Easter egg hunt! On Sunday we are going to have another Easter egg hunt at church with some yummy breakfast and some great Bible teaching. Nicole and Dan are going to be in town too and that always makes for a good weekend!

Next week, Chad's mom is coming into town to stay for a few days (Yay!) We havn't seen her since Christmas so that will be super fun and it's Chad's birthday next weekend so we will hopefully do something fun for that, I need to get thinking/planning!

Other than that, things continue to go well. KJ continues to amaze me with a new word, counting milestone or some sort of funny thing and Lainee is definitely getting bigger because her movements become more apparent everyday! Life is good with us!

If I don't get a blog in before, which I'm sure I won't...

Have a HAPPY EASTER!!!
