Shrieking: A new form of communication?

So, in the last couple weeks KJ has started communicating with these really loud, high pitched shrieks. I don't know where he got it from or why he has decided that it is necessary to make these sounds... but he makes them nonetheless. He usually does it if he is a little upset at something but he will also do it just for the heck of it. I let him know I'm not a fan of this new development and I think that makes him want to do it even more. It's not like he can't communicate with his words either, he has been doing that for a while and he is pretty good at it... maybe he just likes the sound. I have no idea!

Last night we took KJ to his first circus! There was a circus here in town, if you can believe that, up at the school and it was neat to go check out the animals and trapeze artists. They had lions, tigers and doves for the animal acts which was fun; however, they weren't out for very long and KJ didn't care too much for the human variety. He did very well though and sat and watched the whole thing without so much as a fit... or shriek! ;)
